As a child I was bullied mercilessly which informed my sense of self in a negative way. I remember feeling very much like an outsider looking in. I began to drink in order to show up confidently and manage my social anxieties as a result of these experiences although this was all very sub-conscious. My drinking would pick up pace in my twenties and develop into an addiction.
On hitting rock bottom, I entered into rehab and in recovery, worked really hard on myself and in doing so found a love and acceptance for myself I had never experienced before or thought available to me. It has been this experience that has really informed my passion for personal development and all of the work that I do today as a qualified Coach as there is a life after addiction and it is happy, purposeful and fulfilling when you learn how to utilise the tools you already have within you to build a life that you no longer wish to escape.
