JOB TITLE: Support Worker
ACCOUNTABLE TO: The Registered Manager
JOB PURPOSE: To deliver high quality, effective and responsive residential support at The Recovery Lodge.
This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care to people recovering from addiction. We are looking for a good all round team player who is able to cover a variety of shifts including days, nights and weekends, on a part-time basis and with flexibility to cover additional shifts when necessary.
Experience and appropriate qualifications in the care sector are required, and experience in addiction recovery would be ideal. Additional training will be provided.
THE SUPPORT WORKER ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage admissions and discharges in line with company policies.
Manage telephone enquiries, viewings, bookings and family enquiries.
Welcome new clients and help them become comfortable in the household environment.
Support clients with key work, assignments and planning next steps.
Organise and monitor house meetings with clients, and support general housekeeping duties.
Record and monitor physical observations and administer medication as directed and in line with company policy.
Complete risk assessments and care plans, update client notes and provide effective handover communications to colleagues.
Support clients to attend off-site meetings and activities, driving the company minibus.
Complete online training and care certificate related learning.
GENERAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver comprehensive residential care and support (not including personal care).
Provide support, information and education about recovery from substance and behavioural addiction within a 12-step approach to clients and family members or carers.
Contribute to the provision of a clean and safe environment for clients and colleagues.
Work with clients to support healthy meal planning and increased wellbeing, and administer medication as required and directed.
Offer care and support to clients at all stages of their treatment, including pre-admission and post-discharge, working with external agencies as necessary.
Deliver safe and appropriate recreational activities to clients as required.
Contribute to an environment which respects individual client’s dignity.
Ensure effective communication within and external to the organisation in order to support the individual client. This includes attending meetings and the provision of effective handover information.
Be familiar with and adhere to The Recovery Lodge’s policies and procedures including (but not limited to) confidentiality, data protection, Health and Safety.
Attend and participate in meetings as required by the Registered Manager including team meetings, appraisals and training.
Undertake specific tasks and projects as directed by the Registered Manager or delegated authority.

The Recovery Lodge is a twelve step rehab centre in Kent that offers treatment for drug and alcohol addictions and believes in total abstinence. The rehab centre is fully inclusive and accepts any residents, over the age of 18, of all religions and nationalities. Whatever the addiction is that you are suffering from, we are here to help.
